The Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has honored Femi Owoeye, founder and editor of Motoring World International, for his outstanding contributions to the engineering field in Nigeria through the media.

Owoeye received the award as a special guest at the 2025 Induction of Graduate Engineers and the 5th Professor Chinedu Nebo Faculty Lecture, held at the Faculty of Engineering Hall, FUOYE.

Presenting the award, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Engineer Prof. O. Akinsanmi, praised Owoeye’s dedication to promoting automobile engineering and bridging the gap in the reportage of Nigeria’s automotive industry.

“For nearly three decades, through Motoring World International and other motoring platforms, Owoeye has been a driving force in the industry.

He emphasized that the award was in appreciation of Owoeye’s unwavering commitment to the growth of automotive engineering in Nigeria.

Delivering a lecture titled “Engineering Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to Economic Independence for Nigerian Youth,” Owoeye urged engineering graduates to embrace innovation and self-reliance.

“The future belongs to those who can create solutions and transform them into thriving opportunities. Youths no longer need to wait for government or traditional employment,” he advised.

Owoeye stressed that engineering entrepreneurship is not just about starting businesses but about solving problems, creating jobs, and contributing to national development.
