It sounds like a scene from a movie. But stories of getting stuck during intimacy have been with us for centuries – and some of them might just be true.
Very few reports have documented the existence of this occurrence. What reports there are have led many people to question whether it really happens.
Apparently, a handful of couples have gotten locked inseparably during love making. This is actually pretty common (between) dogs.
If you find yourself unable to disengage from your partner, it’s important to stay calm. Knowing what’s happening can help you and your partner. Keep reading to learn more.
Causes:
A man’s genitals getting stuck in the female genital is one possible outcome of a condition called vaginismus.
Vaginismus occurs as a conditioned muscle reflex in the lower pelvic muscle, which clamps shut, making penetration during intimacy either extremely painful or in many cases, virtually impossible.
This dysfunction is known to be responsible for another abnormality known as Penis captivus—which presents as a man and woman being “locked” together through their genitals during love making.
What to do if it occurs?
If Captivus occurs, the effect is likely very temporary. You need to relax and stop gyrating, allowing the couple to separate.
Wait for a few seconds or minutes and take your mind away from the act. The reason for this is to see if the muscle wall will relax.
If you are still stuck, scream for help. And let them call for emergency medical intervention.
This dysfunction is unlikely to hurt you or your partner. As the erection eases, the pressure on the man’s genital will fall, and any discomfort should stop. Likewise, as the contractions end, the muscles should relax enough for the opening of the female reproductive organ to return to normal size.
