How allegations, counterclaims are reshaping Nwoko–Regina Daniels saga
Spread The News

The marital crisis involving Senator Ned Nwoko and his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has taken a more complex and controversial turn following the public release of a document by the lawmaker alleging drug use and internal household tensions.

Late Wednesday, Senator Nwoko shared on his  (formerly Twitter) account a document he described as a written statement by a live-in nurse identified as Dora, who claimed to have worked in the Nwoko household from July 2023.

The statement, dated January 9, 2026, immediately ignited intense public debate, with many observers questioning both the timing of its release and the broader implications of placing such sensitive claims in the public domain.

Allegations of Substance Use

In the document, Dora alleged that she began noticing what she described as troubling behavioural changes in Regina Daniels around September 2025.

According to the statement, the actress allegedly requested assistance in obtaining prescription-only medications and asked questions about potentially dangerous quantities of certain controlled substances—claims that, if substantiated, would raise serious medical and legal concerns.

The nurse further alleged that she once encountered what she described as opioids, anaesthetic substances and cannabis arranged on a table in Regina Daniels’ room.

One of the most striking assertions in the document is Dora’s claim that Regina allegedly instructed her to empty a ketamine injection onto a flat plate and heat it in a microwave to form crystals—an act Dora said alarmed her and prompted her to report the incident rather than comply.

Dora maintained that she refused all such requests, citing professional ethics and safety concerns, and insisted that she neither prepared nor administered any substances during her time in the household.

Claims of Domestic Tension

Beyond allegations of substance use, the document also addresses speculation about domestic violence within the marriage. Dora stated that she never witnessed Senator Nwoko physically assault his wife, countering widespread online rumours.

“My boss, Sen. Ned Nwoko, neither drinks nor smokes, and I have not seen or heard of him physically abusing my madam in any way,” the statement read.

According to her account, disagreements she observed were verbal in nature and largely centred on Regina Daniels’ alleged drinking and smoking habits. These claims have added another layer to an already fraught public conversation about the couple’s relationship.

A Third Party Enters the Picture

The document also introduced a third figure into the controversy—a friend of Regina Daniels identified as Ann Cassie. According to the statement, Ann Cassie was allegedly involved in procuring and mixing substances and was recently arrested and charged with multiple offences.

The statement further alleged that the charges include issues linked to a past illegal abortion—an issue Regina Daniels had previously alluded to indirectly on social media—as well as cyberbullying offences connected to online posts. Ann Cassie was said to have been granted bail, with the cases reportedly pending before the courts.

Public Reaction and Unanswered Questions

While none of the allegations contained in the document have been independently verified, their release by a serving senator has intensified scrutiny of what had previously been viewed as a private marital dispute.

Critics argue that making such claims public risks turning personal and potentially criminal matters into a trial by media, with lasting reputational consequences for all parties involved.

Supporters of Senator Nwoko, however, contend that he is attempting to respond to growing speculation and misinformation surrounding his marriage by placing his version of events on record.

As of the time of filing this report, Regina Daniels has not issued a public response to the claims outlined in the document. There has also been no official statement from law enforcement agencies confirming or addressing the allegations mentioned.

With emotions running high and public interest intensifying, the unfolding saga continues to blur the lines between private life and public accountability, leaving key questions unanswered as Nigerians watch closely for the next development.
