Inec begins distribution of Sensitive materials ahead of Edo Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to the 18 local government areas in Edo State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.  

The distribution process began at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Benin on Thursday. Representatives from various political parties, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), and security agencies inspected the materials before they were dispatched.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Onuoha Anugbum, assured that the distribution would be carried out seamlessly to ensure a hitch-free election on Saturday.

He stated that all the materials would reach the local government offices of INEC by the end of Thursday.

On Friday, the sensitive materials will be moved to the Registration Area Centers (RACs) in preparation for the election.

The materials are being transported to the various local government areas using hired commercial buses.
