The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted nationwide on Thursday, April 10. The mock exam was designed to test the Board’s new technological features and prepare candidates for the main UTME through exposure to the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.
In a statement released on Sunday by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB announced that candidates can now access their mock results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration.
According to Dr. Benjamin, a total of 200,115 candidates initially registered for the optional mock exam, but two later withdrew, bringing the final number of registered participants to 200,113. However, on the day of the examination, 73,844 candidates were absent while 88 candidates failed the biometric verification process—a mandatory prerequisite for sitting the test.

“Consequently, a total of 126,181 candidates successfully took part in the mock UTME. Of these, results for 115,735 candidates have been released and are now available for viewing, while 10,446 results are still undergoing processing and will be released in due course,” the statement read.
Dr. Benjamin acknowledged that some candidates experienced delays at their centres, attributing the hiccups to new features introduced to improve the examination process ahead of the main UTME. He noted that such challenges are not unusual during the mock phase and emphasized that JAMB is working to ensure a smoother experience during the main exams.
“The mock examination allows JAMB to evaluate its systems and rectify any issues in real time before the main UTME. It also provides candidates with hands-on experience, helping them become familiar with the CBT environment,” he explained.
He reassured the public of the Board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of its examination process. He also thanked parents and candidates for their cooperation and understanding.
Over the years, the mock UTME has proven to be a valuable tool for both the Board and candidates, helping to identify and address operational lapses and technical challenges ahead of the actual UTME.
JAMB further advised all candidates preparing for the 2025 UTME to continue making the necessary efforts and sacrifices to ensure a successful and stress-free examination experience.
