THE Principal Secretary to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has expressed the view that the era of oppression is over in Kano State. He said this when he received politicians from Madobi Local Government Area, the birth place of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and now Senator for Kano Central Senatorial District who were there to show their solidarity to Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje in the on-going political power tussle between the duo.

Usman Bala, who represented the Governor at the occasion, told them that Ganduje was absent because it was the day he received Vice President Yemi Osibanjo who came to condole with the people of the state over the fire incident that gutted one of the largest market in Nigeria and West Africa, and also commissioned some of the state government projects.

The Vice President had noted with satisfaction that it was the first time he saw an underpass with flyover which has eight arms not only in Nigeria but in Africa. He also laid foundation for the constructions of 2,000 low cost houses for workers at Amana City unlike the previous ones which was built for the rich only.

That not withstanding, the Vice President also laid foundation for the construction of a huge training center for the youths at the cost of N500 million where training on skill acquisition will be offered at various levels to empower the teeming youths in the state with a view to reduce the high rate of unemployment.

Selected trade skills and good management training will be given to males and females to make them self reliance. He also commissioned about 50 vans for refuse collection tagged Kano Kalkal which has about 500 trained women drivers who will drive them within eight local government areas to collect refuse at affordable rate.

The Principal Private Secretary said this is a privilege for the women in the state as they are now given role to play in the socio-economic growth of the state. He said it is a promise fulfilled by the governor from the day he was sworn into office that he will improve the lives of women and youths in the state. It is also a testimony to the people of Madobi as the gigantic project of this administration started on the road leading to your towns and villages.

He assured them that their request seeking the governor to include the name of their leader, Alhaji Kabiru Cinkoso, in the appointment lists will be done, stressing that this time there will be no command in selecting party officials or aspirants as it was because the Governor believes in absolute democratic practices where only the choice of the people is eminent.

According to him, to further drive this to the consciousness of all and sundry, the Governor recently warned the state party leaders to be democratic in electing candidates devoid interest in the process.

He concluded that Kano today is for Governor Ganduje, he is the leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) whether they like it or not, the people of Madobi can now play politics the way they want it unlike when it was dictated to them.
