Kidnappers have reportedly demanded N450 million for the release of the Oniwo of Aafin, Oba Simeon Olaonipekun, his NYSC-serving son, and several other residents abducted in Ifelodun Local Government Area (LGA), Kwara State.

According to police sources, the victims were taken during a coordinated abduction operation, and efforts to secure their release are currently ongoing.

Security agencies, including the Kwara State Police Command, have mobilised to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe recovery of the monarch and other victims.

The police said that while negotiations and rescue strategies are underway, the safety of the abducted individuals remains the top priority. Details on the exact circumstances of the abduction are still emerging.
