Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has confidently declared his intention to win the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Saturday during the inauguration of the NNPP Secretariat on IBB Way, Katsina, Kwankwaso outlined his ambitious plans for the party’s future.
Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, made the declaration while on a condolence visit to the Yar’adua family, following the death of their matriarch, Hajiya Dada.
During the event, he expressed strong confidence in the party’s trajectory toward success in the upcoming 2027 General Elections.
“We are prepared to take over the presidency, states, and other positions across the country by 2027,” Kwankwaso stated. “The NNPP is set to lead Nigeria into a new era, and I am confident of our victory.”
He also criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that the party is no longer relevant. “The PDP is already dead. We left because they strayed from their principles. The NNPP is now the party of choice for those who seek genuine change,” Kwankwaso said.

Kwankwaso urged Nigerians, particularly women and youth, to remain vigilant and not be swayed by superficial incentives. “Do not allow yourselves to be deceived by money or trivial offerings during the next elections. Stand firm and choose wisely,” he advised.
The NNPP leader further emphasized the need for party leaders to intensify their efforts to ensure electoral success. He praised the renovation of the state secretariat, calling it a crucial step in the party’s preparations for the future.
Kwankwaso also made a personal commitment to support a young boy, Abubakar Ibrahim, from the Yammawa area of Katsina, who suffers from severe acute malnutrition. “We must take care of our most vulnerable. It’s our duty to support those in need, especially children like Abubakar,” he added.

In addition to Kwankwaso’s remarks, Alhaji Armaya’u Abdulkadir, the NNPP state Chairman, highlighted ongoing efforts to educate the electorate about the party’s new logo. “Our new logo represents our commitment to education for all, a cause that is central to the Kwankwasiyya movement. We need to increase grassroots sensitization to ensure that our members understand its significance,” Abdulkadir said.
Political analyst Dr. Aisha Bello commented on Kwankwaso’s announcement, noting, “Kwankwaso’s declaration reflects his strategic vision for the party.
The NNPP’s focus on grassroots mobilization and education aligns with a broader effort to build a solid foundation for future electoral success. However, the real test will be whether they can translate these plans into tangible results in the coming years.”
With these developments, the NNPP’s preparations for the 2027 elections are clearly underway, signaling a potentially transformative period in Nigerian politics.
