The Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and other stakeholders in the state polity, celebrates developmental feats while charging candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos West II, to harness those who contended for the ticket with them in the party and galvanize much votes for the party in the July 12,2025 council poll.

Speaking at the Lagos West 2 Senatorial District programme on Monday Hamzat highlighted the glorious attainment of the party thus far in the state, adding that all the candidates of the party both chairmen and councillors were chosen by the party, so party members must vote them in.

“No other party does campaigns the way we are doing, we must not be put to shame, for we are doing well. Check no functional railway elsewhere but in Lagos.

“We are all proud of ourselves,we are progressives we are doing well, we must all come out and vote in support of the party.

“It is important for us as a political party to come out and vote, I am happy we carry placards of support for our candidates but not only that is required, let’s go get our voters cards.

“We understand all the antics, the party chose all the candidates we are fielding in the election,so we urge you to vote for our party.

Hamzat thereafter handed over 10 party flags to the Apex leader in the area Chief Rabiu Oluwa for onward presentation to the candidates.

Lagos State APC Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi earlier in his speech tasks party faithful to speak up loudly via the local government election, by giving a massive vote which can prepare the mind of President Bola Tinubu on what to expect in the 2027 general election.

“What do you have to pay back for our President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s developmental strides in Lagos West 2, for creating six more councils in our area, all he has done within the space of time which was complemented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as we have the biggest road corridor here, the biggest general hospital is being constructed.

“Look at the monumental development witnessed here, they are not asking for too much but your support to complement their efforts.

“It is time for us all to go back to our base on the need to educate all in the state for them to come and cast their votes, show appreciation for all the good works, tell the people that West 2 is for the APC.

“I urge our market women and artisans to do their best in canvassing their votes citing the hospital, roads and various empowerments here.”

The campaign council chairman Hon Babatunde Balogun was quick to add the essence and need for all candidates to close ranks with all who contended with them during the party’s primary election, adding that a formidable front mean a lot for the party at the July 12 election.

“You must be capable enough to unite your council and local government area. You will remember that prior to you were many jostling for the party’s ticket. Appeal and counsel them to join you, so that you can be a formidable force at the election.

“Unite those who lost out at the primary, you have to be part of the reconciliatory efforts of the party, whoever has a rank will protect it, those who don’t have rank cand do all to cause a stampede but we need not join them.This election should be a signal of what is to happen in 2027.

The Lagos West 2 Apex leader Prince Rabiu Oluwa under whose charge is 28 Chairmen and 192 councillorship candidates in the axis, harps on the need to convince President Tinubu on the required massive votes for the attainment of his 2027 re-election bid.

“Just two weeks to the election, don;t lose sight of our contenders, our boss is waiting for it to understand what will come up in 2027.

“Do your house to house campaigns and deliver for the party massively.

A Governor Advisory Council (GAC) member Senator Musiliu Obanikoro also a reverred leader in the area hinted that the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) just disclosed that there are 7 million registered voters in the state, while urging the people to make effort and cast over 6 million votes for the party at the council poll.

“Cast over 6 million votes at the council election for our party and send a signal ahead of 2027 general election.

“I trust your capacity to deliver, you don’t have enemies now, everybody should be your friend. Come next week Saturday APC shall triumph in all the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs.

The programme witnessed an overwhelming turnout of party faithful and loyalists from the area all in solidarity for the parties candidates.
