Manchester United have reportedly received an approach from La Liga giants Barcelona regarding a potential loan move for forward Marcus Rashford.
The 27-year-old’s future at Old Trafford has been the subject of speculation this week after he expressed his readiness to leave the club in search of a “new challenge.”
In a recent interview, Rashford stated, “When I leave, I’ll make a statement and it will be from me. When I leave, it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings.’ You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person. For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”
Rashford’s exit has seemed imminent for some time, as he has faced criticism for his poor form and attitude over the past 18 months.
His comments came after being left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday, which further fueled speculation about his future.
The England international has been linked with several clubs, including Premier League teams, European giants, and Saudi Pro League sides.
However, reports suggest that Manchester United are open to allowing Rashford to leave on loan, provided certain conditions are met.
Barcelona has emerged as a potential destination, with sources claiming that the Spanish club has made contact with Manchester United regarding a January loan deal for Rashford.
According to reports from Football Transfers, this deal would be a loan-to-buy arrangement, with an option for Barcelona to purchase the forward permanently in the summer.
Barcelona has reportedly offered a £35 million (€42m) fee for the 27-year-old, and Rashford is said to be interested in the move.
The Catalan club, who have long admired Rashford, are keen to take advantage of any available opportunities in the transfer market, with club president Joan Laporta leading the charge.

Despite Rashford’s sentimental attachment to Manchester United, the club is reportedly eager to offload the winger in an effort to balance the books and revamp the squad under the management of Ruben Amorim.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has reportedly secured a deal for Paraguayan left-back Diego León.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, all documents have been signed for the 17-year-old to join the club in 2025.
León will officially become a Manchester United player when he turns 18, after a deal worth $4 million, plus potential add-ons, was agreed with his current club, Cerro Porteño.
