Mixed reactions have continued to trail the sudden death of the Chief of Staff of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari who died late Friday after contracting the deadly coronavirus.

While some Nigerians expressed grief and condolence over his death, others from their tweet post, tend to mock the former Chief of Staff over his death.

The Executive Secretary NEITI, Waziri Adio described Kyari as a deeply human, cerebral and loyal personality and not the wrong impression that was widely sold.

Reacting to his death, the spokesman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan, described Kyari’s death as unfortunate, and prayed that Allah forgive the shortcomings of Mallam Abba Kyari, grant him Aljanat Firdausi and give his family the fortitude to bear the pains of this loss.

Senator Shehu Sani in his reaction, said that the president has lost a trusted and very loyal friend who will be missed.

“The President has lost a trusted & loyal friend. A man who took the bullets of his master with smiles, calmness & silence. We knew his cap & his colors but never his mind or his own side of his story. He will be missed as a Punchman or a punch.”

Femi Fani-Kayode, who is one of the biggest critics of this government expressed sadness at the loss of a friend of 40 years. He described him as a good and honorable man.

“I have lost a friend of 40 years. We were at Cambridge together. We worked in my father’s law firm together. We remained close throughout right up until the end even though we disagreed politically. Abba was a good man: a man of honor & a loyal friend. May his soul rest in peace.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, expressed grief over his death and asked Allah to comfort his family and forgive him his sins.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I am saddened by the death of Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. May Allah SWT comfort his family, forgive his sins and grant him AlJannah Firdaus. Ameen.”

Some Nigerians seemed not bothered about his death but rather critical of his antics while in government.

A human rights activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju said that this should be a lesson to President Buhari as Nigerians will celebrate like some Nigerians are doing now if anything happens to him.

“I hope those already stealing Corona Vurus money will stop & begin to do the right thing. Abba Kyari died here in Nigeria, unable to travel for medical tourism. FIX OUR HEALTH SECTOR & country now. “

Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed regrets over the death of Mallam.
