While addressing the House of Representatives on Monday, September 30, the activist made it clear that he did not believe that renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, was in any way connected to or involved in the serious allegations of bribery that had been leveled against Bobrisky, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigeria Correctional Service. He emphasized that in his view, Falana’s involvement in such a matter would be highly improbable, given the lawyer’s reputation for integrity and commitment to justice.

“It seems clear to me now that certain individuals are attempting to exploit the current situation to unjustly target Femi Falana, perhaps to tarnish his name or undermine his standing. They are using this issue as an opportunity to create doubts and confusion around his character, despite there being no solid evidence to suggest his involvement in this scandal.”
“I want to take this opportunity, right here and now, to offer a heartfelt apology to Femi Falana. It is deeply unfortunate and troubling that his name was mentioned in the audio recording related to this case. Like many others, I was in disbelief when I heard it, as I could not imagine that he would be associated with something of this nature. In fact, that particular aspect of the situation angered and frustrated me the most, because I simply cannot accept or believe that he would ever be a participant in anything of this kind,” he stated firmly.
