North Korea has strongly criticised recent United States military strikes on Venezuela, describing them as a serious violation of national sovereignty and further evidence of what it called Washington’s “rogue and brutal” conduct in international affairs.

According to North Korea’s state-run news agency, KCNA, the condemnation was issued on Sunday through a spokesperson for the country’s Foreign Ministry.

The spokesperson said the U.S. action represented “the most serious form of encroachment of sovereignty” and undermined the principles of international law and peaceful coexistence.

“The incident is another example that clearly confirms once again the rogue and brutal nature of the United States,” KCNA quoted the spokesperson as saying.

Pyongyang also warned that the situation in Venezuela had produced “catastrophic consequences” for regional and global relations, arguing that such military actions threaten the stability of the international order.

The statement came amid heightened geopolitical activity involving North Korea. Earlier on Sunday, Pyongyang conducted ballistic missile launches, coinciding with the commencement of a state visit to China by the leader of South Korea.

China remains North Korea’s closest ally and a key diplomatic and economic partner.

Separately, KCNA reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected a greenhouse farm construction project along the country’s border with China on Friday, a visit framed as part of efforts to boost domestic agricultural production.

Analysts say North Korea’s sharp reaction to developments in Venezuela aligns with its longstanding opposition to U.S. military interventions abroad and its broader strategy of positioning itself as a critic of what it views as American dominance in global affairs.

The condemnation adds to growing international reactions to the U.S. action in Venezuela, further highlighting rising tensions and deepening divisions within the global geopolitical landscape.
