The All Progressive Congress United Kingdom Southwest State Caucus (APCUKSWSC) has echoed the need of prompt intervention by the party’s national leadership, to halt the already festering crisis in Ondo state polity.

APCUKSWSC Chairman Hon. Andrew Taiwo in a statement issued in the UK on Saturday, cited how imperative it is for the party’s leadership to wade in on the ranging political feud.

The crisis  was a fall out of  the April 20th governorship primary held across the 18 local governments of the state.

Hon. Taiwo emphasized the fact that  a drastic intervention is required to resolve the issue, which has taken a new dimension as one of the aspirants Senator Jimoh Ibrahim already approached the High Court, seeking cancellation of the exercise and calling for a new date for the conduct of a new primary.

It would be recalled that the incumbent Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa won the primary.

Taiwo counselled that the party leadership should opt for out of court settlement with Senator Ibrahim, so as to aid quick reconciliation and close the existing gaps that may have negative impact on the party’s political fortune if not curbed early.

“The governorship election comes up in November and APC needs to go into the contest with a formidable and united house.

“We at APCUKSWSC call on the party’s national leadership to urgently wade into the crisis and settle the matter right on time before the November governorship election.

“We really do not need division within our ranks, so as to ensure our eventual victory.

“Enmity should not be entertained within our fold, we need all the power blocs of influence to weigh in on all other party’s in the contest.

“As members of the same house our grievances should be settled amicably within.

“Although constitutionally any one aggrieved can take legal actions but it is not a good omen, when we belong to the same party, issues should be resolved internally at all times.
