Police apprehend  3 brothers for robbery

The police have revealed the arrest of three brothers,  including a friend, for robbery in the Ijebu Ode axis, Ogun State.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement, identified the suspects as Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo and Tosin Ogundeko.

The police  said that the operatives went after arrest on receiving a report from residents of  Ijebu Ode that some gunmen robbed a lottery agent of N90,000 in Odi Olowo area of Ijebu Ode.

The PPRO said that the robbers also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle but a police patrol team chased after them and arrested Ogundeko.

Oyeyemi said that the robbers confessed further that they are based in Epe but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation.

According to the PPRO “Upon the distress call, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them by the name Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered.

“The arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining three were apprehended; while one of them, simply identified as Tosin, a.k.a socket, escaped.

“Items recovered from the suspected robbers include one cut-to-size locally made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle.”

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

The police commissioner also directed a massive manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang, the PPRO said.
