Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, at the inauguration of the Ogbunabali Sand fill Area/Estate in Port Harcourt, slammed leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who he said have abandoned their states and are traveling round with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic PARTY (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, rather than going back home to mobilise support for the victory of the PDP and Atiku in the 2023 general elections.

Beside other PDP stakeholders, Wike cited former Governor Ahmed Makarfi of Kaduna State, who he said on Channels Television was saying that he is close to Wike and urging the Rivers governor to have restraint in his agitation.

The governor stated that he has not spoken to Makarfi in the past five months, wondering how people who are close cannot talk for five months. He, therefore, said that Makarfi, like other PDP leaders, should focus on delivering their states for the PDP. He declared: “they should deliver their states; deliver Kaduna, deliver Kano… to the PDP, I don’t want to hear excuses, I don’t want to hear that they rigged and that is why we lost…

“This is Operation deliver your state.

“Operation Deliver Your Polling Unit’ and ‘Operation Deliver Your Local Government.”

Wike had narrated: “This morning I was watching television when I saw a former acting chairman of the party, Ahmed Makarfi, and he said he is very close to me but I don’t know how close he is to me.

“I don’t know when last we spoke. I’ve never spoken to him for the past five months. So, if you are close to somebody politically, there is no how you won’t have spoken to the person.

“What I want to advise Makarfi is: Look, you have a job, make sure PDP wins Kaduna State. Leave Wike. Make sure PDP wins in Kaduna State, I don’t want to hear excuses.”

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State was invited to commission the Ogbunaabali sand field/estate layout.

The PDP Deputy National Chairman South-South, Dan Orbih, was also a guest at the commissioning.

Governor Wike had revealed that an elder statesman, Chief Olabode George, would be in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to commission other projects.
