Private guards admonished to seek for more security knowledge

Security experts converged at the Lagos business meeting in Lagos recently to deliberate on ways to synergize with other sister agencies with a view to sieving right information about security issues in Nigeria.
With the theme: “Building effective National Security framework through professionalism,” the speakers expressed serious concern over security threats in Nigeria, insisting that the imperative of finding a lasting solution to insecurity cannot be over emphasised.
The Commandant General of Nigeria, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gani Muhammadu, the guest speaker, was represented by Jonathan Iyogho, observed that security challenges has become a major problem across the globe.
They called the government, private sector and citizens to recognise the need for action to increase security.
Iyogho reiterated that, “We need more information to work. All hands should be on desk to achieve this insecurity in  the environment.
He further stressed that private security guards who did not have knowledge of security should acquire more knowledge; register in security school to enable them enhance their job effectively.
In his remarks,the chapter Chairman of ASIS International, Seyi Adetayo, called on all security experts to start doing things differently from what they were doing before because collaboration is essential and key to the success in security practice.
“We have come together as professionals to discuss issues on technical and economy matter over security trends in the society.
According to him, putting in place all these will us go a long way by bringing all the stakeholders together.
The Zonal Commandant, Waheeb Popoola, commended the efforts of the organizers for bringing the key players in the security industry on monthly basis to fashion out ways to deal with common security issues.
