Godwin Obaseki was not a tailor or computer accessories seller, he was an economist and investment banker who knew that Government was not forever and accountability and transparency was the common sense thing to do while in Government and so, he prepared for the day any administration would want to check his books.

For 8 years, Edo students were always top 5 in National exams, Obaseki left and Edo moved to number 10 in WAEC. Focus on Education sir. Obaseki transformed the Benin Technical College and it’s now one of the most sophisticated technical colleges in Nigeria. We have other technical colleges in the State, which ones will you transform?

The rains are here and are no joke. They come with some malevolence upon the Edo people and we see daily distress videos from Edos all across the State when it rains. Obaseki did his part, what is your plan to check flooding in the State? Focus on it!

Edo became number 1 State in Oil Palm Cultivation and Production in Nigeria under Obaseki due to his ESOP program of setting aside 10,000 hectares for oil palm Cultivation also Over 8,000 hectares was set aside for Cassava Cultivation helping to provide for local consumption as well as feed our 2 ethanol plants in the state. What’s your plan to improve our Agricultural potentials aside taking selfies with 6 tractors? Focus on Agriculture.

Under Obaseki, Edo State had the most efficient and effective public service with public servants enthusiastic about their work. The zeal and zest in the civil service has died just a few months after, we hear that civil servants now get paid in installments and have no reason to put in any energy into their jobs anymore. What’s your plan to improve the engine room of Governance? Focus on it!

Under Obaseki, the GDP of Edo State improved by over 150% with reasonable local and foreign investments, creating jobs and prospering the Economy of the State as IGR hiked to N6billion monthly increasing our tax collection net from 100k to over 300k in 8 years. IGR has since dropped to about N4billion with many individuals pilfering as they manually collect taxes now. What’s the plan to atleast get it back to where Obaseki left it if you can’t improve it beyond that?

Sports prospered under Obaseki and we saw our male and female team competing and defeating their counterparts all over the continent. We hear that those who went for the last National Sports Festival are still being owed DTAs, we don’t even know the position Edo took this time. Focus on improving our Sports.

It is obvious that destroying people’s houses has not helped check kidnappings and insane cult activities in the State, in the last 3 weeks, reports have it that almost a dozen have been slain in Edo State. What’s the plan to engage Young folks in productive ventures and discourage them from this foolishness. The Edo innovates organized by Obaseki to offer trainings in Technology and equip our kids with skills appears to be a ghost of itself now, the fashion designing and leather production sections of EdoJobs have died since you came. Focus on it!
