In a series of tweets posted on his Twitter handle on Thursday night, Okonkwo, who is a member of the legal team representing the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Gregory Obi, at the ongoing Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja, argued that Okoye lied when he said that INEC had provided all election documents requested by the petitioners challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential polls.

Going further, Okonkwo alleged that not only did INEC tell the tribunal that some requested documents were no longer in existence, but the electoral umpire also refused to obey court orders for it to release critical documents needed by petitioners to prove their respective cases.

Quite interestingly, Okonkwo’s remarks have garnered a lot of mixed reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians online, with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts.
While some persons concurred with his assertions, others, however, criticized his allegations against the INEC Commissioner.
