The political climate in Rivers State shifted dramatically on Thursday as members of the State House of Assembly began formal impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Ngozi Oduh.

During a plenary session chaired by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, the House Majority Leader, Major Jack, officially read a notice detailing allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Fubara.

In the same session, Deputy Majority Leader Linda Stewart read a separate notice outlining allegations of gross misconduct against Deputy Governor Ngozi Oduh, marking the first formal step toward potential removal from office.
