The Special Adviser on Erosion Control and Waste Management to Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Hashimu Gurku, has urged various communities in the state to continue to co-exist peacefully with one another.
This, he said, was to ensure speedy development in the state and the country at large.
Gurku made the appeal on Thursday while playing host to Fulani community from Gurku, Karu Local Government Area of the state.
The former lawmaker representing Karu/Gitata constituency at the state legislature said that the importance of unity and peace to human and societal development could not be overemphasised.
”I want to call on you and other people of the state to continue to champion the course of peace, unity and understanding amongst you and other people of the state.
”As the importance of peace to societal development could not be overemphasised. Peace is priceless and non-negotiable, and it is the necessary requirement for the development of any society.
”It is with only peace that we will achieve sspeedey development and enjoy more dividends of democracy in the state,” he said.
Gurku appreciated the Fulani community in the area for their show of love and support to the present administration in the state and called for its sustenance.
The special adviser also called on residents of the state to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, tolerate one another and be their brother’s keepers for development to thrive.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Malam Umaru Hammah, told the special aide that they were in his residence to appreciate what the state governor is doing, especially in the area of security.
Hammah declared their unalloyed support for Sule beyond 2023 to enable consolidate on the gains of his first term.
“We will continue to support all government policies and programmes geared towards the development of Nasarawa State,” he pledged.
