President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The labour leaders arrived at State House in a white Toyota Hiace Bus at 2:00pm and were led straight into the president’s office.

Thursday ’s meeting is part of President Tinubu’s promise to hold further consultations with stakeholders on the new minimum wage after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) stepped down deliberations on the matter last month.

The tripartite committee on the minimum wage had in June this year recommended N62,000, but the organised labour rejected it, demanding at least N250,000 as minimum wage.
