The media aide to Bola Tinubu, Tunde Rahman, has revealed that his principal will not oppose the ongoing moves by some traditional rulers in Yoruba land to broker peace between him and the Minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

It would be recalled that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on Tuesday, met with Aregbesola in one of the private residences of the Alaafin in Ibadan, with a view to reconciling him with former Lagos State governor.

According to highly placed sources, Tinubu was not present at the meeting because he was not invited for the first meeting, but added that the monarchs would hold a separate meeting with Tinubu at a later date before convening a joint meeting.

Reacting, Rahman said, Tinubu has tremendous respect for the traditional institution and particularly for the two eminent royal fathers.

“If you ask me what Asiwaju’s attitude would be to the reconciliation move, of course, he would welcome and support it. Asíwájú appointed him Commissioner for Works for eight years during his time as Lagos governor. He also later drafted him into the Osun governorship race and supported him to be governor in Osun for eight years.
