Tinubu omits Niger Delta ministry in portfolio list

President Bola Tinubu in his ministers portfolio list released on Wednesday by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, omitted the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

National Daily Newspapers’ check found that neither the Ministry of Niger Delta nor the Minister of Niger Delta was included on the ministerial portfolio list.

It was, however, not clear if the Niger Delta Ministry would henceforth be supervised by the President, himself, or the Tinubu administration may be scrapped the Niger Delta ministry, or a minister may be appointed in subsequent appointments, or possible ministerial refreshment.

Meanwhile, ministerial nominees from the Niger Delta States have been assigned ministerial portfolios in the 45 ministerial list of the President.

While the Minister of Niger Delta is missing on the list, the President has modified the ministerial structures, splitting some ministries  into distinct department headed by respective ministers.

However, there are still three ministerial nominations to be made by President Tinubu to replace those rejected by the Senate during screening and confirmation sessions.
