Trump’s cabinet nominees targeted by bomb threats and “Swatting” attacks

Several individuals nominated by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump for positions in his incoming cabinet have been targeted by bomb threats and “swatting” attacks, a spokesperson for Trump confirmed on Wednesday.

Karoline Leavitt, the president-elect’s spokesperson, revealed that the threats were made on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, putting both the nominees and their families at risk.

The attacks included bomb threats, where perpetrators falsely claimed explosives were planted, and “swatting,” a dangerous hoax where authorities are called to a victim’s home under false pretenses, often resulting in a heavy law enforcement response.

Leavitt assured the public that law enforcement responded quickly and took immediate action to ensure the safety of those targeted.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, un-American threats to their lives and those who live with them,” Leavitt said in her statement.

She also made it clear that despite these violent and intimidatory tactics, the Trump team would not be swayed in their commitment to move forward.

“With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us,” Leavitt added, reaffirming the resilience of the president-elect and his team in the face of these attacks.

The incident has raised concerns about the rising levels of hostility and extremism surrounding the confirmation process for incoming political appointees.

However, authorities have pledged to continue their investigation and ensure that the safety of all individuals involved is a top priority.
