Amid escalating tensions between Washington and Caracas, former United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife have been captured by U.S. forces following coordinated military strikes across multiple states in Venezuela.

Trump made the assertion on his Truth Social media platform on Friday, stating that American forces carried out what he described as “successful operations” targeting strategic locations in several Venezuelan states.

According to the post, the operations allegedly led to the arrest of President Maduro and his wife, though no further operational details were provided.

The former U.S. president did not disclose the specific locations of the strikes, the nature of the military engagement, or the agencies involved in the purported capture.

He also did not indicate whether the operation had the backing of the current U.S. administration or international partners.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from the U.S. Department of Defense, the White House, or other American authorities regarding any military action or the alleged capture of the Venezuelan leader.

Similarly, the Venezuelan government has not issued a formal response, and state media in Venezuela continue to broadcast regular programming, offering no acknowledgment of the claims

International observers and diplomatic sources have urged caution, noting that claims made on social media—particularly on issues of war and national leadership—require verification from multiple credible and official sources.

The situation remains fluid, and analysts warn that any confirmed military intervention in Venezuela would have far-reaching political, economic, and security implications for the region and beyond.

Further updates are expected as official statements emerge from both U.S. and Venezuelan authorities
