The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to deport Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, a Nigerian national convicted of multiple serious crimes, including armed robbery and illicit drug trafficking.
In a statement released on Monday, ICE identified Ijaoba as a former member of the ‘Bloods,’ a notorious street gang associated with violent criminal activities. According to the agency, Ijaoba entered the United States illegally and subsequently accumulated an extensive criminal record.
“Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and former member of the Bloods — a notoriously violent street gang,” ICE stated.

“He entered illegally and then racked up an extensive rap sheet that includes convictions for: aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm; assault and aggravated assault; armed robbery; obstruction; drug sales; and escaping police custody. He has a final removal order and awaits deportation in ICE custody.”
Ijaoba’s case highlights ongoing US efforts to enforce immigration laws and remove non-citizens with serious criminal convictions from the country.
Separately, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently arrested another Nigerian national, Oluwadamilola Ogooluwa Bamigboye, for allegedly evading arrest and abducting an immigration officer.
Bamigboye, along with an accomplice, Rekeya Frazier, faces federal charges including assaulting a federal agent. Bamigboye was also charged with overstaying his student visa, according to court documents.
These developments underscore heightened US enforcement against foreign nationals involved in violent crimes or immigration violations, particularly those linked to gangs and organized criminal activity.
