Valentine Ozigbo pays tribute to Tony Elumelu on birthday

The immediate past president and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), Valentine Ozigbo has felicitated with Tony Elumelu as he celebrates his birthday today.
The former People’s Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in the 2021Anambra poll, described Elumelu as a living legend who has contributed immensely towards Nigeria’s economic development.
“Today, I have the honour of celebrating one of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs and philanthropists, my boss, leader and elder brother, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, CO , MFR, as he marks his birthday today.
“Tony O Elumelu is the founder of Heirs Holdings and the Tony Elumelu Foundation. He is the Chairman of Transcorp Plc and United Bank for Africa. He is an economist, a Harvard MBA, a banker, businessman and a devout family man.
Tony Elumelu, a Nigerian economist, philanthropists and businessman was born on March 22nd, 1963.
Elumelu has received recognition and praise for his contributions to business and entrepreneurship.
In 2003, the Federal Government of Nigeria granted Elumelu the title of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic MFR, a national honour.I
In 2012, he was awarded the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger CON for his service in promoting private enterprise.I
In 2018 and 2019 he was awarded the All-Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) Philanthropist of the Year Award.
He was also among TIME magazine’s100 most influential people in 2020.
