Wike leads in 13 LGs as INEC resumes collation of results in Rivers

Governor Nyesom Wike has maintained his lead in 13 local government areas as theIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) resumes collation of results for the governorship elections in Rivers State on Wednesday. The commission resumed the collation and announcement of result Wednesday morning after the process was adjourned at 6.00pm on Tuesday.

The commission says it would announce collated results from six more local government areas today after it announced results from 15 local government areas on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was declared winner of the Rivers West and Rivers East Senatorial District as well as the Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency.

To maintain security, the axis of the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway around the INEC office has been cordoned off while Police say access into the collation center will remain restricted.
