The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to withdraw the controversial tax bills currently under consideration in the National Assembly.

In his message to Nigerians as we welcome the New Year, especially focusing on the workers of the nation, NLC President Joe Ajaero highlighted the significant importance of withdrawing these particular bills. He made it very clear that this action is essential for safeguarding and enhancing the well-being of Nigerian workers, who rely on fair practices and policies for their livelihoods.

Furthermore, Ajaero took the opportunity to call on the government to place a strong emphasis on values such as transparency, inclusivity, and honesty in all of its engagements with the public. He believes that it is vital for the government to ensure that its actions are not only open but also serve the true interests and benefits of the people they represent. By doing so, the government can build trust and foster a sense of community and support among its citizens, reinforcing the idea that the government is there to represent and uplift every individual in the nation.
