Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has publicly clashed with Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, following accusations that Wizkid allegedly stole Seun’s nickname.

The controversy erupted during a livestream in which a Wizkid fan urged Seun Kuti to change his nickname, “Big Bird,” arguing that Wizkid already uses the moniker “Biggest Bird.” Seun Kuti responded firmly, insisting that he was the original bearer of the name.

“Wizkid stole my name,” Seun said during the livestream. “Tell your fave to be original. Why are you telling me to change my name? Sorry, I can’t change it. This name has been here for a long time. I was the first to come up with it. I am not dragging it with anybody, please.”

The comments quickly drew attention online, prompting a strong reaction from Wizkid. The Grammy-winning singer took to social media to respond with a series of fiery posts, dismissing Seun’s claim and asserting his own prominence.

“I big pass your papa!! Wetin you don do? I’m Big Wiz every day,” Wizkid wrote in one post, appearing to reference his own status in the music industry.

In another message, he continued his attack, saying, “Ok everybody better pass Wizkid! Can we all sleep now? Fela fight for freedom, this fool dey fight FC! Oloshi omo ale!”

The exchange has sparked debate among fans and followers, with many weighing in on social media about the legitimacy of the nickname claims and the broader rivalry between the two artists.

At the moment, neither Seun Kuti nor Wizkid has issued a formal statement to settle the dispute, leaving the matter to continue trending across online platforms.
