RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons has reportedly expressed interest in a potential move to Chelsea this summer, as the Premier League side intensifies efforts to bolster its attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Simons, 22, enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign, registering 8 goals and 11 assists, which has drawn the attention of several top European clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and other Champions League contenders. However, Chelsea appear to be leading the race.

According to a report by Matt Law of The Daily Telegraph, Chelsea have identified the Dutch international as a realistic transfer target and have already made initial progress in negotiations with his representatives.

Simons is said to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge and is intrigued by the prospect of joining the reigning Club World Cup champions.

Simons’ addition would further enhance a Chelsea attack that has already welcomed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer.

The West London club is aiming to inject pace, creativity, and versatility into their front line under manager Enzo Maresca.

However, any potential deal for Simons is expected to hinge on player exits, with the club needing to offload attackers to create space in the squad and maintain financial balance.

Joao Felix, who spent the past season at Chelsea, is likely to leave with his former club Benfica showing interest, while Christopher Nkunku is also rumored to be on his way out after an injury-riddled spell.

While a final agreement between Chelsea and RB Leipzig is yet to be reached, the willingness of Simons to consider the move marks a major step forward in negotiations.

The coming weeks will be crucial as Chelsea aim to finalize deals and restructure their forward line for the new season.
