1. Sleep apnea
This medical condition causes you to stop breathing for a while, when you sleep at night. This medical condition is linked to memory loss. If you experience headache when you wake up from sleep or you snore when sleeping, then you may have sleep apnea. If this condition is not treated, it may affect spatial navigational memory which helps you to remember things.
2. Silent stroke
Someone who has silent stroke may have memory issues because, stroke blocks major brain blood vessels. When silent stroke occurs, it doesn’t allow blood to flow properly to the brain.
3. Medication
The type of medication you take may cause you to forget things easily. Some of the drugs that can affect your memory are sleeping pills, pain killers, antidepressant drugs and diabetes medication. It is important to visit a doctor, if you start experiencing memory loss as a result of the medication you are taking.
4. Lack of vitamin B12
When you don’t get enough nutrients like vitamin B12 which is important for normal nerve function, it may lead to confusion and memory loss. You can get vitamin B12 from certain foods like fish and meat.
