A new Lagos State Commissioner of Police has been appointed for the state by the Inspector-General of police, Mr Alkali Usman Baba.
The officer is Mr Abiodun Sylvester Alabi. He is the immediate past Commissioner of police for Bauchi state.
The new CP Abiodun has been a terrain-man in Lagos in his career years as he had been a Squadron commander for many years. Also DPO for Lion Building and Ikeja police stations.
Force spokesperson, Frank Mba who announced this in a statement said IGP Baba also ordered the posting of CP Haruna Gabriel Garba and CP Tajudeen Akinwale Abass to Yobe and Benue State Commands respectively.

According to him, the posting followed the recent promotion by the Police Service Commission.
CP Abiodun Alabi, the new Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command will take over from Hakeem Odumosu, who was one of those recently promoted into the position of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG.
Alabi is a fellow of the National Defence College and a member of Nigeria Institute of Management. An alumnus of the University of Lagos where he studied Sociology and a Masters Degree holder from Obafemi Awolowo University, CP Alabi was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in 1990 as a cadet officer.
He has served in various capacities within the Force which include, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Police Mobile Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja; DCP Admin Taraba and Bayelsa Commands respectively, and as DCP Operations, Ekiti State Command before his promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Police.
Until his recent redeployment, he was the CP Administration, FCID Abuja.
