President Muhammadu Buhari at the weekend commended the turban of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, as Ɗan Amanar Daura, Katsina State. Amaechi was turbaned Ɗan Amanar Daura on Saturday.
President Buhari in a statement on Friday celebrated the conferment of the traditional tile by the Daura Emirate on Rotimi Amaechi in Katsina State as symbol of national unity and melting of ethnic, regional, and religious boundaries. A reparable businessman, Nasiru Haladu Danu, was also conferred with traditional title same Saturday in Daura; Danu was turbaned Tafida Babba of Daura.
While Amaechi was turbaned Ɗan Amanar Daura in Katsina State, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State was conferred with the traditional title of Se-Ibidokibo of Kalabari land – “He who does good things for Kalabari people”, Kalabari, Asari Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State on the same Saturday.
Buhari, in the statement on Friday, indicated that the conferment of “Dan Amana” – the trusted one – on Amaechi was a clear reflection of the harmonious relationship between the nation’s diversity and culture.
The President noted that Amaechi has been “for working with enormous energy to make the change we promised Nigerians a reality.” Buhari maitnaineed: “the change we are witnessing in the transport sector is an extraordinary legacy.”
President Buhari was represented at the ceremony by a delegation of three, comprising the Minister of Water Resources, Sulaiman Adamu; the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
