Daura Emirate defends turban of Amaechi as Ɗan Amanar Daura
The Daura Emirate has defended the turban of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, as Ɗan Amanar Daura, Katsina State, on Saturday. The Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness, Umar Farouq, stated that Amaechi deserves the traditional title from the Emirate. The Royal Father declared that the Emirate does not offer traditional titles indiscriminately. The Emir at the turban ceremony in Daura, Katsina State, insisted that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, deserves the title of “Ɗan Amanar Daura” conferred on him at the weekend.
The Emir maintained that the conferment was well deserved for Amaechi, saying the Emirate is not influenced with money in giving traditional titles, but confer titles on people who serve the country selflessly.
Emir Umar Farouq had declared: “We thank Almighty Allah, all praises be to Allah for sparing our lives to witness this important occasion where Daura Emirate is giving title to Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
“I am indeed grateful to the Federal Government and traditional as well as traditional and religious leaders including the Oba of Lagos for supporting the Daura emirate.
“On a more serious note, Daura Emirate does not give title anyhow but to people who deserve its title like Amaechi.”
Dignitaries at the conferment included the Minister of State For Labour And Employment, Festus Keyamo; Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State and the state cabinet members, as well as traditional and religious leaders, beside the delegations of President Muhammadu Buhari from Abuja.
The Daura Emirate affirmed that the Ɗan Amanar Daura – The Trustworthy Son Of Daura – was conferred on Amaechi because of the performance of the Transportation Ministry and the Minister’s selfless services, essentially, to appreciate the hand of fellowship extended to Katsina State and the North, in general, with the sighting of several federal government projects.
