Cubana Chief Priest declares 2027 House of Reps ambition, seeks APC support

Nigerian celebrity bartender and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The nightlife entrepreneur made the announcement via his official Instagram page, where he revealed plans to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okechukwu disclosed that he visited the APC state secretariat, where he congratulated and encouraged members of the party’s newly inaugurated State Working Committee while also formally presenting his political ambition.

According to him, the visit marked a key step in his transition from entertainment and hospitality into active partisan politics.

“Stopped by at our great party state secretariat to congratulate & encourage our state working committee on their emergence and above all, I made known to them my humble aspirations to represent my people, the good people of Orsu/Orlu & Oru East Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Reps. Na God get power, let the will of God be done,” he wrote.

During the visit, Cubana Chief Priest also communicated his ambition directly to party officials, urging support and blessings as he began his political journey.

He emphasised the need for unity within the APC in Imo State, noting that collective effort would be essential in achieving electoral success in 2027.

“I’ll be running for the office of the Federal House of Representatives. So, all I’m asking is for your blessings,” he stated.

His declaration adds to the growing list of Nigerian entertainers and public figures venturing into politics, a trend that has become more visible ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political observers note that such entries often reshape local political dynamics, particularly in constituencies where celebrity influence intersects with grassroots mobilisation.

While Okechukwu has not yet formally secured the APC nomination, his public declaration and engagement with party leadership mark the beginning of what is expected to be a competitive race for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat.
