The Chairman emeritus of Daar Communications Plc, owner of African Independent Television (AIT), Raypower Radio and others, High Chief Raymond Raymond Dokpesi, has denied any interest to contest for the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the party prepares for its national convention scheduled for October. Dokpesi in a statement dissociated himself from reports linking him to the PDP chairmanship race.
Dokpesi, in a statement, declared that he has no interest in contesting for the National Chairman of the PDP and will not risk a dent in his integrity, having earlier made his stance clear.
Dokpesi affirmed: “I wish to categorically state that I have no interest whatsoever in the position of National Chairman of the PDP or any other national office in the party.”
He assured that he remains a committed PDP member, appealing to members of the public to disregard the report linking him to the chairmanship position, describing it as untrue.
Dokpesi in the statement captioned “Re: Dokpesi, Bode George, 4 others eye PDP National Chairman” declared: “my attention has been drawn to various reports linking me to having an interest in contesting for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled to hold in October 2021.
“The reports have been widely published in a number of national dailies and circulated in both online and hard copy editions.
“I wish to categorically state that I have no interest whatsoever in the position of National Chairman of the PDP or any other national office in the party.
“While remaining a committed party man, I cannot and will not risk a dent on my integrity, having earlier made my stance clear.
“Members of the public are advised to disregard the report as untrue.”
The statement was dated August 16.
