The Federal Government has sent armored personnel carriers (APCs) to Kebbi State to bolster security and fight banditry.

This was announced by Governor Nasir Idris during an inspection of the vehicles at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Idris highlighted that Kebbi has been experiencing persistent attacks from bandits who cross in from Zamfara and Niger States, conducting raids, and then retreating to their hideouts.

He believes the deployment of these APCs will help deter future attacks and safeguard lives and property.

“I thank President Bola Tinubu, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and other security heads for this timely response to protect the people of Kebbi,” Governor Idris stated.

He also affirmed the government’s continued commitment to support the families of fallen heroes in the fight against banditry.

Lieutenant Colonel M. S. Saleh, Commander of the 223 Light Tank Battalion in Zuru, presented the combat equipment to the governor.

He expressed gratitude to both the federal and state governments for their cooperation and support and urged residents to assist security agencies by providing credible intelligence to help identify terrorist hideouts and prevent them from establishing a presence in local communities.
