Nigerians on alert, recall famous tricky quotes of APC leaders in 2015

Nigerians have become conscious of the tricks of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win peoples conscience and support in 2015. Several misleading quotes of the APC leaders in the past used to demonize the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government are being recalled to acquaint Nigerians of the false declarations of APC leaders in their desperation for power. The is rising consciousness to avoid such tricky quotes to mislead Nigerians against in the preparations for the 2023 general elections.

Some of the misleading quotes which some citizens identified as “419 quotes that tricked Nigerians in 2015” include the following:

“A serious government will fix power problem in six months” – Babatunde Raji Fashola, former Governor of Lagos State, November 12, 2014, later became the minister of power, works and housing.

Electricity supply became worse under his direct supervision in the Buhari administration.

Then, an ally of Buhari, stated: ”Stone us if we do not perform after two years” – Tony Momoh April 3, 2016, The Guardian.

Seven and half years after, the APC government left Nigeria and Nigerians in worse situations than they met it.

Again, the APC declared that “The only way to have stable electricity is to vote out PDP” – Babatunde Raji Fashola – July 12, 2014, The Nation. He was power minister yet electricity supply was not stable.

Also the APC opposed the then president for removing the NNPC GMD, saying, “We seriously frown at President Goodluck Jonathan, over the unceremonious removal of the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Andrew Yakubu” – APC, August 4, 2014, Channels TV.

On the controversial discussion on nation building, an APC leader declared: “It’s time to restructure Nigeria: The present situation of things where all component units get monthly allocation from the Federal Government only makes the states lazy and unproductive” – Nasiru El-Rufai – August 2010.

The same APC leader, again, declared: “Jonathan should resign if he has no solution to the violence being unleashed on some parts of the country” – Nasiru El-Rufai – August 2012.

The violence was an agenda APC leaders were perceived to have instigated to unsettle the government. the APC government since coming to power, subsequently lost control of the insecurity crisis, and the violence became worse in all parts of the country. Now, the violence spread from “sone parts”, as it were then, to “all parts” of the country as it is now.

The APC also declared that “The only solution to the present political uncertainty in the country is for the National Assembly to set machinery in motion for the impeachment of ailing President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua” – Muhammadu Buhari – March 10, 2010, Sun Newspapers.

The same APC leader also complained of waste in government, declaring: “Waste: Let me give an instance, presently, there are more than 6 aircraft in the presidential fleet. What do you call that? “Billions of naira is budgeted every year for the maintenance of these aircraft not to talk of operational cost and other expenses” – Muhammadu Buhari – February 2015, Nigerians in UK.

In his administration the number increased to nine aircraft in the presidential fleet.

The same APC leader declared: “We intend for instance, to bring back our National carrier, the Nigerian Airways.

“We shall do this by bringing all the Aircraft in the Presidential fleet into the Nigerian airway and within a year increase the fleet into about 20” – Muhammadu Buhari – February 2015, Nigerians in UK.

He also declared: “Why do I need to embark on a foreign trip as a president with a huge crowd with public funds?

”Why do I Need to go for foreign Medical’s trip if we cannot make our hospital functional” – Muhammadu Buhari.

He made the highest foreign medical trips than any other Nigerian president.

He also promised: “Our Government will work on the Economy to make One Naira equal to One Dollar”  – Muhammadu Buhari 2015…

Invariably, in the preparations for the 2023 general elections, the APC government has huge stock of unfulfilled and failed promises, or a huge stock of deceptive famous quotes unleashed on Nigerians to win their support in the past.
