Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to reject a move to Chelsea and wait for Paris Saint-Germain, who are now preparing to make a final decision on his transfer, according to National Daily Newspaper.
Chelsea has pursued the Nigeria international throughout the summer, but Napoli initially rebuffed their advances, demanding the full £113 million release clause be met.
The 25-year-old striker is a key target for the Blues as they look to bolster their attack for the 2024/25 season.
Osimhen, who has attracted interest from several top European clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool following standout performances with Napoli, was previously linked with PSG.
Despite Kylian Mbappe’s recent move to Real Madrid, PSG hesitated to meet Napoli’s hefty asking price and appeared content with Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani in their squad.
However, PSG’s interest in Osimhen could be rekindled following a serious injury to Goncalo Ramos, who suffered a severe ankle sprain during PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Le Havre on Friday.

Ramos is expected to be sidelined for around three months, prompting PSG to potentially reignite their pursuit of Osimhen before the transfer window closes.
With the injury situation, Osimhen is prepared to wait until the final moments to secure a move to PSG, casting doubt on Chelsea’s proposed triple swap deal for the striker.
Since joining Napoli in 2022, Osimhen has scored 76 goals and provided 18 assists in 133 matches across all competitions, but he has been sidelined recently amid reports of his desire to leave.
Antonio Conte’s Napoli began their 2024-25 Serie A campaign with a 0-0 draw against Hellas Verona on Sunday.
