Police arraign 3 men in court for motorcycle theft in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Friday.

According to the Police, 3 men, Ajayi Femi,30), Usman Aliyu,40, and Shaibu Sodiq,29, were, on Friday, arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing of motorcycle.

The defendants of unknown addresses, are facing a charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 20, at about 02:30 p.m., in Ado-Ekiti.

He alleged that the defendants stole one Bajaj motorcycle valued at N220,000 belonging to Mamuda Mohammed .

Adeniyi said that the offence contravened Section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the file and assemble his witnesses.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

Counsel to the defendants, Mrs Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Oct. 2, for hearing.
