Police Arrest 22-year-old suspected rapist, armed robber in Ondo

Three islamic clerics arrested for allegedly b+heading their surveyor-neighbor in Ibadan, Oyo State Three Islamic clerics have been arrested by the police for allegedly b+heading a surveyor in the Moniya area of Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. One of the clerics is said to be a landlord in the Alapata area of Apete in Ido Local Government Area. His house is said to be located a few blocks away from the surveyor’s office. According to Tribune newspaper, the surveyor was popular among residents for selling and buying lands in the area. They were said to have lured the surveyor, who had worked for one of them, on the pretext of the award of a job, to a bush in Moniya where he was k#lled and b+headed. It is reported that the trio were arrested in the Sango area of Ibadan North Local Government Area on Thursday, a development which threw the Alapata community into confusion.

The operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have arrested a 22-year-old suspected rapist and armed robber in Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

This was announced by yesterday Ondo State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ms. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who said that the arrest was made following a complaint of rape and armed robbery lodged at the station by one of the suspect’s victims National Daily Newspaper gathered.

The PPRO said that the suspect pretended to be a Good Samaritan, who volunteered to help one of his victims before carrying out his evil acts.

She said: “The suspect robbed victim of  sum of N102, 000, her phone and raped her at gunpoint on the way in an isolated area.

The suspect was later arrested by police operatives of the command on routine patrol. During interrogation, he confessed to have robbed many people of their belongings and valuables in the past.

“Four of his victims were contacted through their recovered phones from the suspect, and they all identified him to have attacked and robbed them of their belongings.”

Odunlami-Omisanya noted that exhibits recovered from the suspect included a black unregistered TVS ladies motorcycle, one cut to size gun with bullets, six mobile phones and a POS machine.

She stressed that the suspect would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation National Daily Newspaper gathered.
