Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have successfully arrested two suspected criminals involved in drug dealing and burglary within the state.
The arrests were confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
“The NSCDC operatives have recorded another breakthrough in the fight against crime, following the arrest of two suspected criminals in separate operations,” Abdullahi stated.
In the first operation, NSCDC personnel apprehended Basiru Ahmed, 42, at Salanta, Gwale Local Government Area. Ahmed was found in possession of a significant quantity of substances believed to be Indian hemp (Cannabis sativa).
According to Abdullahi, the suspect was arrested following credible intelligence reports, caught red-handed selling and distributing the illegal substance within the community.
