Presidency 2023: Wike southern group dump Atiku’s Presidential campaign, insists on Ayu’s resignation

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Chief Bode George, and others on Wednesday announced their pulling out of the presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the preparations for the 2023 general elections. The associates of the Rivers State governor, in the same manner they started the removal of former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, have formally declared their pulling out of the 2923 presidential campaign of the PDP.

National Daily gathered that the governor’s supporters after a meeting from 7.00pm on Tuesday into about 2.00am Wednesday morning, at the private residence of Governor Wike in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, declared that none of them will participate in whatever capacity in the campaign council of the PDP except Iyorchia Ayu, PDP National Chairman, resigns for a southern leader.

Participants at the meeting at Wike’s residence in Port Harcourt, were identified to include Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; former Governors Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, Donald Duke of Cross River State, Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State and Jonah Jang of Plateau State, including former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.

Others include elder statesmen, Olabode George, Jerry Gana; South-South Chairman of the PDP, Dan Orbih; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche; Senator Suleiman Nazif, Nnenna Ukeje, etc.
