Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, visited the family of the late Professor Amos Agbe Utuama, SAN, on Saturday to offer his condolences following the passing of the former Deputy Governor.
During his visit to the family’s Ikede Heights residence in Udu Local Government Area, Governor Oborevwori praised the late legal scholar and statesman, calling him a reliable and dependable political figure whose contributions to Delta State and Nigeria will be deeply missed.
Reflecting on Prof. Utuama’s legacy, Governor Oborevwori shared, “I received the news of Professor Amos Agbe Utuama’s death with deep shock. I was aware of his health challenges when I assumed office, and efforts were made by his family and the state to support him, but ultimately, we must accept God’s will. Death knows no specific timing.”
The governor emphasized Utuama’s commendable traits, describing him as a good listener and a trusted leader.
He added that as a former Deputy Governor, Utuama’s influence and service will be remembered fondly. “He was not only a statesman but also someone I personally respected. The state government will fully support the family during this challenging period,” Oborevwori assured.
