The remains of Dee Ann Warner, a Michigan woman who had been missing for over three years, have been discovered on property owned by her husband, Dale Warner.

On Wednesday, August 21, Michigan State Police (MSP) confirmed that the human remains found were identified as Dee Ann Warner, 52, from Tecumseh, Mich., who disappeared on April 25, 2021.

MSP stated via X (formerly Twitter) that the Jackson County Medical Examiner had positively identified the remains as Dee Warner’s. Her death has been officially ruled a homicide, though the specific manner of death will be withheld pending further investigation.

“The investigation is ongoing, and we will continue to work with the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office to gather evidence and seek a conviction,” MSP’s statement said.

The remains were found in a propane tank on Dale Warner’s property during a search warrant executed on August 16.

This tank, typically used for anhydrous ammonia in farming, was discovered sealed with a “do not use” sign, and it was reported that the chemicals were not present when the remains were discovered.

Dale Warner has been charged with open murder and tampering with evidence. He was arrested and arraigned in Lenawee County District Court on November 22, 2023.

Despite his claims of innocence, Dale has pleaded not guilty, and a judge ruled in June 2024 that there is sufficient evidence for him to stand trial for his wife’s murder.

Captain Steve O’Neill of MSP praised the detectives’ diligent work on the case and reiterated the commitment to finding justice for Dee Warner’s family.
