The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced a 23-man squad for the Super Eagles’ upcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Benin Republic and Rwanda.

These matches will mark the first test for Bruno Labbadia, the newly appointed German head coach of the Nigerian national team.

Labbadia’s squad features the return of key players Victor Osimhen and William Troost-Ekong, who last played for the Super Eagles in the AFCON final in Cote d’Ivoire earlier this year.

Osimhen’s inclusion follows his public fallout with former coach Finidi George, which led to his absence from the team.

Other returning players include Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Olisa Ndah. The squad also features prominent names like Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, and Calvin Bassey.

The Super Eagles are set to face the Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on September 7 before traveling to Kigali for a match against Rwanda on September 10. All players are expected to report to camp in Uyo by September 2.
