United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has officially unveiled the fifth edition of its Supersavers Promo, a flagship savings reward campaign designed to deepen financial inclusion across Nigeria while encouraging citizens to build stronger financial habits.

The nine-month initiative, themed “Season of Progress,” was launched at a press conference held at the UBA House, Marina, Lagos, on Friday. The campaign will run from September 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, offering customers nationwide the chance to win cash and other prizes.

Speaking at the launch, UBA’s Group Deputy Managing Director, Chukwuma Nweke, stressed that savings are critical to nation-building and that the bank is committed to empowering Nigerians to achieve long-term financial goals.

“This campaign is aimed at deepening the savings culture among Nigerians,” Nweke said. “Savings empower families and individuals to take control of their future, whether by securing quality education for their children, acquiring homes, setting up sustainable businesses, or meeting pressing needs at different stages of life. Through these products, more Nigerians are being integrated into the formal banking system, bridging economic gaps, breaking cycles of poverty, and building stronger communities.”

The Supersavers Season 5 promo is open to both new and existing customers across multiple account categories. Customers can qualify by opening Bumper Accounts with a minimum deposit of N5,000, with chances of winning increasing based on multiples of deposits. Other qualifying accounts include Individual Savings Accounts (requiring N10,000 monthly deposits for three consecutive months), as well as Kiddies, Teens, and NextGen Accounts for young savers.

Highlighting UBA’s consistent investment in customer rewards, Shamsideen Fashola, Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, said the bank had rewarded thousands of customers with N150 million in prizes during its 75th anniversary promo last year.

The reward structure includes quarterly star prizes of N1 million for 27 winners, cash prizes ranging from N500,000 to N10,000, monthly airtime rewards, and targeted cluster draws. Special categories for children and young adults ensure that account holders across all demographics benefit from the initiative.

According to Alero Ladipo, Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, the Supersavers Promo is more than just a reward scheme. “For us, this is about financial inclusion. We still have significant ground to cover in empowering Nigerians toward financial independence, and this promotion is one of the ways we bring people into the formal banking system, exposing them to safe, secure, and innovative banking solutions,” she said.

To broaden access, UBA has introduced a digital onboarding platform that allows customers to open accounts in real-time without visiting physical branches, further democratizing financial services. All draws will be conducted live with regulatory oversight, ensuring fairness and transparency.

The bank also plans extensive nationwide activations in markets, universities, and rural communities, targeting millions of Nigerians who are currently outside the formal financial system.
