The world’s historical backdrop is filled with incredible secrets. We will not live long enough to see them all resolved. However, it is always intriguing to see a part of the truly weird things that lay beneath the surface.

1. Moas birds

Moa birds were flightless birds that inhabited the land known as New Zealand today until becoming extinct about the year 1500. People of the Mori community, according to one theory, murdered them. During a campaign in the twentieth century, scientists found an unusually large hook from one of the birds that had been astonishingly well protected for a long time.

2. Saksaywaman Temple Complex found in the outskirts of Peru

Surprisingly, this ancient city was built without using cement, and this bags the question of how it was built in the first place. In other situations, passing even a piece of paper between the stones is difficult. Furthermore, each block has a smooth surface and rounded edges. What materials were used in its construction? Their importance may be related to the stars and the stars’ positions in the heavens.

7. Pakistan, Mohenjo-Daro

For decades, scholars have been baffled by the mystery of this city’s demise. One of the islands in the Indus River was found in 1922 by the Indian archaeologist, who uncovered ancient remains there. The question of how this magnificent metropolis was destroyed arises. What happened to the people that lived there? Several excavations have yielded no results.

8. Anse aux Meadows situated in Canada

The Vikings arrived in Canada some 2,000 years ago and established at this ancient excavation site. That it exists shows that Scandinavian mariners reached North America long before Christopher Columbus was born, as evidenced by its existence.

9. Tunnels from the Stone Age

As a result of a vast system of underground tunnels that spanned Europe from Scotland down to Turkey, stone-age societies were more than just hunter-gatherers. However, the tunnels’ true purpose remains unknown. While some scholars believe that they were employed as a kind of protection against animals, others feel that they were utilized as a method to travel around in safety, shielded from the harshness of the weather and numerous conflict situations.

10. Costa Rica’s enormous stone spheres

These enigmatic stone structures pique our interest not only because of their flawlessly spherical shape, but also because of their unknown origins and function. Workers clearing the forest from a banana plantation spotted them in the 1930s. The enigmatic spheres were said to hold hidden wealth, but they turned out to be empty according to local tradition.
